Kirkpatrick Revisited | Social Learning Blog

Via Scoop.itSchooL-i-Tecs 101

The new Kirkpatrick focuses on a business partnership between learning professionals and business leaders and a model that links training to results. It uses an evidence-based methodology. And it gets the managers involved in the training, in the evaluation process, and providing support and accountability as follow-up with their employees.

Kirkpatrick, the granddaddy of the Four Levels of Evaluation, during his farewell tour in 2011 at the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) Minneapolis workshop, stressed the need to find out what success will look like in the eyes of stakeholders or management by letting them define their expectations for the program. Starting from the 4th level of Evaluation, Levels 1, 2 and 3 will then be used  to build a chain of evidence for the results.
