THE WISE Initiative
The World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) launched by Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development in 2009 is an annual international, multi-sectoral platform for creative thinking, debate and purposeful action bringing together over 1,000 top decision-makers, thought-leaders, practitioners and education stakeholders from a wide variety of sectors and more than 100 countries to seek innovative solutions to today’s educational challenges and to share best practices. .
WISE also seeks to raise the status of education through a growing number of year-round programs highlighting its leading role in global development and fostering innovative thinking and practices.
Submission period for the 2012 WISE Awards is open until May 31, 2012.
Against a backdrop of nationwide budget deficits and intense struggles over the future of education, Arizona State University will host the 2012 Education Innovation Summit to bring together
thought leaders, education entrepreneurs, educators and investors to chart a course for an educational revolution driven by innovation.
Technology’s potential to transform education, New educational models, The Personalization of Learning and Policy, innovation and politics issues will be some of the main discussion panels.

Showcase new and emerging technologies for their creative and collaborative potential, pedagogical and educational benefits across KLA K-12;
Inspire school leaders to adopt innovative approaches to the integration of ICT across the curriculum;
Develop teachers confidence and competence in using a range of ICT;
Provide delegates with students’ perspectives on learning in a digital classroom.
